💡 Avolve Innovations
Avolve Mobile™ V1.1
The V1.1 release of Avolve Mobile bridges the gap between office plan review and on-site field execution. By introducing live geographic context, intelligent navigation tools, and offline access, field inspectors can confidently conduct compliance checks directly from their tablets—even when disconnected from the network.
🟢 Availability: Available to customers on the Premium Bundle.
Updates:
Esri ArcGIS® Map Support: Field teams can now view live spatial data directly within the mobile app if ArcGIS is enabled in their tenant. Users securely log in using their ArcGIS credentials and grant location access, allowing them to view project scopes geographically.
Point-to-Point Routing: To streamline travel between inspections, users can select a specific case on the map and instantly launch turn-by-turn navigation directly within the ArcGIS map interface.
Offline Maps Deployment: Inspectors working in remote areas or locations with poor cellular service can download predefined offline maps for offline use. This ensures spatial context remains fully accessible when disconnected from the network.
App Linking Integration: Seamless deep linking allows inspectors to jump directly into the correct case. When launching Avolve Mobile via an external link from a core permit system, the app automatically navigates to the specified project case, allowing the user to select the appropriate file.
Dynamic Smart Filtering & Clear Controls: Navigation within large document lists has been significantly accelerated with the addition of a filter matching indicator (e.g., 1/2 results) in both the Document and Markup panels. Users can also clear applied filters with a single tap via a dedicated "Clear filters" button.
Avolve AI™ Submit
With 7.2, Avolve AI evolves beyond standard plan checks to execute deeper structural and regulatory validations. By automating the verification of document orientation, stamp placement, and spatial requirements, jurisdictions can significantly accelerate the intake process and reduce manual review fatigue.
🟢 Availability: Available to customers on the Premium Bundle.
Updates:
Engineering Stamp Detection: Administrators can now configure submission policies by uploading one or more required engineering stamps. The AI actively scans incoming plans to verify the presence of these specific stamps, displaying immediate compliance messages directly within the Digital Projects portal.
Blank Space Verification: To prevent late-stage bottlenecks where deliverables lack room for jurisdiction approval stamps, the system now validates blank space availability upfront. Administrators can configure the exact location, size, and offset required per submission policy, and the Digital Projects Check dialog will pinpoint exactly which sheets or pages fail the requirement.
Automated Page Rotation Detection: Avolve AI reduces manual document preparation by automatically detecting incorrectly rotated pages upon upload. While this is not treated as a hard submission check on the Digital Projects card view, the system actively highlights rotated pages so they can be identified immediately.
Granular AI Results Visibility: To ensure maximum clarity during applicant intake, AI check results are hierarchically displayed in the Digital Projects portal. High-level, file-based checks are shown directly on the card view, while granular, sheet-specific results and errors are detailed within the Check File dialog.
Avolve GIS™
Version 7.2 upgrades the spatial review experience by introducing new annotation capabilities directly within the live GIS viewer.
🟢 Availability: Available to customers on the Standard Bundle or above.
Updates:
The New Sketch Widget: The spatial viewer has been upgraded with a dedicated Sketch Widget, providing reviewers with the tools to mark up and interact with live GIS data.
Spatial Text Annotations: Reviewers are no longer limited to basic spatial indicators. You can now use the sketch tool to add clear, descriptive text annotations directly onto spatial maps to provide explicit geographic feedback.
🚀 Core Review & Collaboration Enhancements
Document Composer
The Document Composer updates in DigEplan 7.2 streamline workflows into clearer steps, enabling users to create new files by splitting large files or merging multiple files into one more intuitively. This document assembly tool controls how review and approval outputs are delivered to applicants or agencies.
🟢 Availability: Available to customers utilizing older DigEplan Pro licenses or the Standard Bundle (2025 onwards).
Updates:
- Merge Process: Users can combine two or more files into a single new document and insert a blank page separator between them.
- Split Process: Multi-page files can be divided into separate documents by adding cut lines between pages.
- Add Cover Pages: Users can select and apply a PDF template as a cover page for their composed documents.
- File Protection: The system prevents un-cached files from being selected or opened within the Document Composer.
- Document Properties: Newly merged or split documents can be saved using required document properties.
DigEplan Application
🟢 Availability: Available to customers utilizing older DigEplan Pro licenses or the Standard Bundle (2025 onwards).
Viewer Toolbar Customization
The 7.2 update enables plan reviewers to personalize their workspace by customizing the layout and contents of the viewer toolbar. This delivers a tailored review experience by allowing users to hide unused markup tools and adjust the interface to their preferences.
Updates:
- Tool Organization: Users can move tools to change their display order or completely remove tools that are not required for their workflows.
- Flexible Positioning: The toolbar's location can be adjusted to display vertically on the right side of the viewer or horizontally across the top.
- Administrative Control: System administrators can dictate the available pool of tools by explicitly disabling specific markup types across the tenant
PDF Package Extraction
7.2 introduces native PDF package extraction, eliminating a previous limitation where packages registered as ‘corrupt files’ and forced reviewers to manually re-upload documents. This enhancement removes extra administrative effort and improves overall system reliability.
Updates:
- Automatic Recognition: PDF packages are now natively recognized within the DigEplan Document List.
- Selective Extraction: Users can select one or more specific files to extract from the parent PDF package.
- Property & Validation Routing: Extracted documents are automatically added to the 'Upload Files' dialog. This routing allows users to set required document properties and apply configured submission checks immediately.
Cross-Case Document Comparison
The 7.2 update enhances the comparison tool by removing the restriction of only comparing documents within the same project. This allows reviewers to easily reference historical plans, master templates, or related projects without losing their place in the current review.
Update:
- Expanded Comparison Scope: Reviewers can now select a document and directly compare it against files residing in entirely different cases or system folders.
Concurrent Viewing Visibility
To improve team coordination and prevent overlapping work, DigEplan 7.2 introduces real-time awareness of document activity across the review team.
Update:
- Active Viewer Indicator: A new visual indicator now displays exactly when another user is actively viewing the same document simultaneously.
Manual Sheet Sorting
Reviewers are no longer locked into the standard alphanumeric sorting order. This update provides complete control over document organization to better match a logical or custom review process.
Update:
- Custom Drag-and-Drop: Users can now manually drag and drop plan sheets into a custom sequence, overriding the default system sorting.
Precision Drawing Tools
The 7.2 update introduces advanced geometric accuracy to the shape markup tools, ensuring that spatial sketches and drawn shapes are precise and standardized.
Update:
Preset Scale Options: Reviewers can now draw shapes accurately to scale directly on the plan using new preset scale options within the markup tools.
🛡️ Administrative Controls
Administrator Updates
The 7.2 update provides administrators with tighter governance over system accessibility, user management. tool distribution, and applicant intake configurations.
🟢 Availability: Standard administrative updates are available to all customers, though Avolve Innovations configurations require the corresponding license.
Updates:
Submission Policy Configuration Redesigned: As new automated submission checks have been added to the system, the submission policy interface is now arranged into distinct sections. This structural redesign reduces visual clutter and improves administrative navigation.
Document Type Descriptions: Administrators can now add a description to each Document Type. This enhancement ensures an applicant can directly see instructions for each Document Type within Digital Projects, reducing intake errors.
Departmental Stamp Assignment: To streamline the review interface, administrators can now restrict stamp access within the Stamp Designer, assigning specific stamps only to designated departments.
Markup Tool Exclusions & Administrative Control: System administrators can dictate the available pool of tools by explicitly disabling specific markup types across the tenant. Furthermore, administrators now have explicit permission to cleanly delete unused markup libraries.
User Account Filtering: Administrators can now instantly filter the user management list dynamically between active, inactive, and all users to better manage license allocations.
🔌 Integrations
The 7.2 release expands DigEplan's connectivity, providing development teams and partners with the tools needed to build custom integrations and connect external systems.
Workspace Folder APIs
Public APIs have been added for Workspace Folders. This allows partners to build their own integrations to DigEplan.
